Winter Cup Information 

WELCOME

Green Island JFC would like to welcome all teams to the GIJFC Winter Cup 

This is the first tournament of its kind in the Dunedin area and we hope all our young players have a lot of fun. 

This tournament is open to all teams in the U11 & U12 age group. There are only 8 places in each age group available this year. Entry will be taken as first on a first served basis.

OUR MISSION

Our aim is to deliver an exceptional tournament experience for all Southern Football teams, that is local and allows teams to play against local & out of town teams. 

INFORMATION

Format: 

U11 - 7v7 - (max squad size - 12) 2 guest players allowed - dispensation to be approved

U12 - 9v9  - (max squad size - 14) 2 guest players allowed - dispensation to be approved

Teams: maximum of 8 teams

Entry Cost: $200+GST

WINTER CUP DATES: 12/13 July

Game times: 20 minutes each way - 5 minute half time break.

Play off round - if level at full time 5 minutes extra to be played, golden goal format. 3 player penalty shoot out if there is still no result. 

TIME TABLE: 

Managers brief - Saturday 9am

First saturday game - 10am - All teams play 3 games each (pool games)

First Sunday game - 10am, - All teams play 2 games (semi & finals)

Prize giving after the last game.

Entry open: 29 May 2025

Entry Close: 22 June 2025 (or earlier if full)

Entry email confirmation sent out: 23 June 2025 

Registration payment due: 4 July 2025

Registered teams to email team lists with player comet ID numbers: 29 June 2025

Dispensation approved: 2 July 2025
